I found 2 boxes of train tickets that my dad had saved from the 1960s - 1980s. Mostly from his journeys to work from Hailsham to Lewes.
They are a record of his working life but also of railway lines that no longer exist. The Cuckoo Line that joined Hailsham to Polegate closed in the 60s; the Kemp Town branch line closed in 1971; Groombridge to Tunbridge Wells West is now a preserved railway.
